Need help for first WC build

Here is what I've picked out so far :



About $560 without shipping and GPU blocks from FrozenCPU.

And here is my current planned setup :



Is the order ok, or is there any re-ordering required? Did I miss out any required parts as well (other than GPU blocks as I'm still deciding whether to get for current 580s or get new 680 too)?

The order looks fine. My only question is over whether you have enough radiator - but that really depends on why you are looking to water cool.

A CPU and two GPUs is quite a lot to cool over a single 120.3 radiator. It should be quieter than existing air cooling on the GPUs but won't be silent (or what most people would call silent - it's a pretty subjective measure). Also the temperatures should be reasonable but won't be amazing, so I don't know how much room to overclock there would be.

If you're happy with this then by all means go ahead, but if you were wanting a really silent system, or to go for extreme overclocks then be aware then you probably won't manage it.

Order does not matter except that the res must be higher and feeding the pump.

What ever looks cleaner as far as order goes.

Would the water be not cooling enough if the GPUs come immediately after the CPU block?

Noise is not so much an issue, I suppose Gentle Typhoon's @ 1800RPM is not that silent am I right? My concern is more for heat dissipation, as my room is hot enough such that it feels as though air cooling is just moving hot air from one place to another without any actual cooling.

Am I over spending too much? I saw Juggalo's stickies mentioning that CPU-only loop can go for $200+ only.....I have yet to include GPU blocks and I'm already above $500. I also saw that the MCP355 pump can be bought from some bmaverick guy for $35, but I'm not sure how do I go about the transaction.

Not sure, but I don't see any water cooling parts in your rig.

Anyone has any idea how to buy the $35 pump? That would save a lot of money.

I'd get an MCP35X instead. It is PWM and already comes with the best aftermarket top, no need to void your warranty. And consider buying a heatsink for the DDC pump.

Note that Maverick sells MCP350, the 10watt version, not the 18W ones.

So buy 2 of them and use an XSPC dual pump top. Redundancy for as much as 1 pump.
