Why does everyone on OCN hate apple so much.

Everyone here always says anything by apple sucks. If you mention iPhone you get flamed because its "Inferior" if you mention mac you get someone saying they "suck" and yet none of these people ever offer an explanation as to why they think this. :/

i like my iphone 4s - its much better than my BlackBerry 9550 was.
Yes, it has its faults... (all phones do in some way) but i do like it.


I would have to say that for the most part, people here dont like macs because Apple has always been such a "closed" company. You could never upgrade parts easily... you had to buy only there stuff... etc.

PC is just a much more friendly modding/oc'ing/building platform.



(My wife keeps saying she wants a MAC and i keep putting her off... i know nothing of macs and wouldnt be able to fix anything! lol - so i got her an iPad and she is happy now)

I didn't insult macs. Though I am one one of the majority that has a strong distaste for macs... I didn't insult them in THAT post.

A lot of people on OCN dislike Apple products because of the price, but will admit they make good products, just bad value.

The real hate comes from their business practises, such as patent trolling over trivial things just as 'slide to unlock'.

They hate Apple because other people hate them and it's cool to hate Apple. 

They blast Apple for shady business practices and ignore all the other companies in the industry that do the same thing.

well, it's a shared opinion i guess.
And if you look closely to apple and their products, they are not doing any good if you ask me. Becouse the technology they throw at you could be better for the price tag they put on it. for example i just made a imac 27 inch at the applestore online, to see what technology they throw at me. this imac will cost 2700 euro's, and what comes with it you ask?,
A i5 (dont even specify which else than the clockspeed which is at 3.1 ghz)
8 gig 1333 mhz,
1 tb HDD with 256 mb SSD,
A 6970M with 2 gb VRAM,
it also includes a fance apple mouse and of course the apple logo ( which you can buy for 2 dollar right here).

for 2700 euros, my god what kind of watercooled monstostorus beast could you build with that.

I think that that's what bothering people and why they have a certain opinion about apple, you can't disagree tongue.gif

Hate is just a lack of understanding in most cases and I think that is a root cause of the Mac/PC divide.

I use both platforms and that's what they are: Computing Platforms.

I think it's funny that people define themselves by what box of wires and crap they run some sort of software on and get a hate-on for those who use a different box.

They are just tools to do tasks folks, use the one (or ones) that work best for you thumb.gif

You can always combine a Mac and a PC to make something unique that everyone will like:
