[GSMA] Dead Trigger is now free on Android, devs blame rampant piracy on Android - Page 3

Uh, reverse psychology? Although it sucks I paid a dollar for a free game, at least Dead Trigger came out fairly soon after the iOS release. I'm still waiting for Asphalt 7, which was supposed to hit Android on June 25 mad.gif

Piracy is imminent on both devices (any devices/platform for that matter), and it doesn't take much more than a few clicks to get it done.

It's all up to the user if he/she feels it's worthy of a purchase. I only purchase apps I believe deserve my money, and so far that's been only a handful both on ios/android.

Was there a demo/free version of Dead Trigger before they made this version free? I'm curious how many people may have pirated the game just to try it out and then hated it so they didn't buy it, so the piracy stats the developer is looking at may be giving them a false sense of how many purchases they've actually lost.

Don't blame piracy. Blame Google's idiotic Play Store. This is the first I've heard of the game, I took a quick look through the Play Store didn't find it. I had to actually use the search function. How can I buy a game I've never seen?

The reason the piracy rates are so high is because its much easier to find a game in a list of gaming torrents or an APK sharing site than it is to actually find it on the Play Store.

Does this game have a lot of microtransactions? A lot of mobile games are pay 2 win. This may just be good publicity if that is the case.

I saw dead trigger on top new grossing, although there wasn't a demo.

FWIR google can refund apps if they're requested within 15 minutes of download (including download time).

In situations like this a user has to unfortunately resort to pirating or reading reviews (which tend to be skewed or unjustified).

I shake my head at the arrogance that digital thieves have. Always making excuses for stealing like they're the victims, despite news like this where there clearly is no reason to pirate. Just disgusting behavior.

Nvidia's behavior with the Tegra 3 effects is exactly why I avoid getting their products anymore.

I saw this game on the Play store a while ago. Looked kind of interesting, but then I found out that it has in game purchases. So no, I wont be playing it. Even if its "free".
