Where was I trying to justify people pirating the game? I was stating a reason why I think that people were pirating it. That doesn't mean that I support them doing so. smile.gif

With most games on Android the game is either free with in game purchases, or advertising (Ex. Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, etc.).

When you pay for a game on Android you expect it to either include a large amount of content (Ex. Max Payne, GTA III), or it removes the ads from the free version of the game (Ex. Angry Birds premium, etc.)

From what I have read, this game was trying to double dip. They charged you for the game, and then they heavily incentivized you to use the in game market. I can't confirm this due to not playing it yet, but I can see where that move might make people not want to pay for they game.

People find excuses after the fact. What you said implied otherwise. That's all I'm saying. Sorry if I misunderstood your opinion.

And, yes, the game does operate that way.

android market is continuing to grow... in the lower end market... the cheapo sub $100 dollar phones. Android piracy will continue as long as theres cheap android phones flooding the market.

doesnt help that its so damn easy to find .apk files using google and side loading it.

100% true. but, there's good and bad .apk file posts. The previous Dolphin HD browser and the Adobe Flash .apk's (side loaded) are how I got flash working on my Nexus 7.

But isn't there ways for devs to fix that? Just look at all the trouble the guys at xda are having trying to get the Time Warner Cable app to work--a free app they won't update for devices that are rooted or running Jelly Bean because of "piracy" they say. Piracy? WTH..? I'm no coder but it's got some kind of trigger that goes off and disables it if it's on a device that's rooted or running JB. Couldn't something like that be loaded onto a game .apk to verify a Google Play purchase/user account registration with a game site? Sort of a mini DRM or whatever.

I'm unimpressed with this game.

I had a gun. Played a few levels. Quite liked this gun. Got to the gun shop. LOST my gun, find out it costs 30G (real money) to rebuy. Totally pissed me off.

With the amount of IAP they were taking the piss asking for anything upfront for this game.

what a load of people don't know that the first 2-3 levels are demo/tutorial levels for you to get used to the game.
then when the game actually starts you "loose" the M4.

Holy crap. I didn't know that. I'm almost done with the third level I guess it is and I'm barely getting the hang of the controls.... Now I'm gonna lose my M4? Wow. I might, maybe buy the mini gun and just have done with it.

err no it doesn't
http://www.androidauthority.com/piracy-rates-are-higher-ios-android-wind-up-knight-developer-104305/

besides; IMHO its easier to pirate on iOS cause with installous you just search for the app and it gives you working download links. In android you have to have either someone send/give you the .apk file or you have to google around for those shady blog sites or forums to find a working download mirror to download the .apk file.
