Corsair Vengeance K90 Keyboard?

Hi all,

Anybody have this keyboard? I am thinking of changing my keyboard to the Corsair Vengeance K90. It has a really nice finish and sense of quality to it. It has raised keys for ease of cleaning with aluminium underneath. The major keys are mechanical but the less used ones are not. This isn't a huge issue for me but it would have been nice to have full mechanical keys. Its a little pricey but I like the quality finish of it and it would compliment my case and monitors and look nice on my desk! tongue.gif

I like the way the macro keys are lowered compared to the other keys. I have macro keys on my current keyboard but I keep pressing them instead of ESC and CTRL etc.

It has some good reviews

The positives:
  • Stylish
  • Quality finish
  • Backlit
  • Programmable keys
  • Mechanical keys
  • Handy volume control

The downsides:
  • A bit pricey
  • Not all keys are mechanical (not a biggy)

Here is a detailed review I found on YouTube.
(I only watch the first 10mins)

So any thoughts? I am a casual gamer but I do like to have quality hardware.

Looks a bit like the Saitek to me...which initially is a turn off...i don't like them, but that one is a mechanical isnt it? That would def be a reason to give it a try, and the things you mentioned such as the finish and key layout. I would say go for it, I switched from Razer to a Logitech setup and its been great, the keyboard you use imo is overlooked as being a very important part of your set up biggrin.gif Get one that makes you happy and it pays for itself

I had that keyboard, the fact that its wasn't fully mechanical really didn't do it for me. I use the f keys alot and the feel then membrane keys is just totally different, They feel worse than a cheap microsoft keyboard. Again on the negative side, the keys (and the wrist rest) seem to get sweaty and nasty fast. I have my mac and a ducky keyboard and they never even a finger print showing on them.

I really wanted to like the k90 because corsair products are generally great. So yeah, its a good first attempt from corsair, but, its not a keyboard to own.

I was considering a K90 also, but after looking around a few threads here on OCN I realised that getting a full mechanical keyboard such as a Filco, Ducky, WASD, DAS etc was a better option, many fellow OCN-ers have them and I've heard nothing but good things.

Yea I think you are right! I was all set to buy this but I have broadened my horizons a bit now!! I still might but I will look at other keyboards too! Thanks for your input! smile.gif

If you read any review on it they do mention their dissapointment with it not being fully mechanical but that it isn't a huge issue.

I am sure Corsair will have heard this feedback and may make version 2 that is fully mechanical.

I haven't actually ordered it yet, I'm on the fence between a Filco Majestouch 2 Tenkeyless and a WASD with custom coloured keycaps.
