They wont be harmful but you would need a lot of these to get anywhere near the surface area of a kill coil. The fittings that are silver plated are nice because you have more flow over the metal but those stop fittings are so tiny.

I thought kill coils were used because they're purposefully made for just that?

If you put the kill coil in a res, it can't get into the tubing. The one on sidewinders actually says that it's just big enough that it can go into 1/2"ID tubing but not fit through g1/4 fittings.
