Quick Question: MCR320 to RX360

Thread Starter
Just a quickie...

Would I see a big performance gain, or even a small one for that matter, from my current Switftech MCR320 to a RX360? I am using Yateloon mediums but always running them at 100% because of the summer heat. I am going to be cleaning and redoing my loop next week (yearly mantiance) so I figured it was a good time to switch rads

My temps
Ambient: 25C

Idle CPU: 44C
Idle GPU: 36C
Load CPU: 70-73C
Load GPU: 46-51C (Max I ever saw my GPU under water was 51C on a hot, hot day)

(My loop is in my sig)

So would I see benefit from the RX/EX? (Well out of the 2, probably the RX would be better but I would like a 2nd opinion lol)

Which MCR320? The XP or the QP?

There really isn't that much difference up through 1400RPM. If I were you I'd save my coin. But then again I'm cheap.

The QP version. But from looking at your graph, I can see the change is negligible. Therefore I probably won't switch them out its not cost effective

Thanks for the info! +rep

Those figures are not really meaningful. They're measuring 10c deltas. You plan on running 10c delta? You can barely cool a cpu with 10c delta. For a synthetic, you can get an idea of performance. And in that regard the QP is at the bottom.

Eh, at the end of the day spending $100 to swap heat exchangers of the same size-class nets you a pretty poor return on investment. Probably a handful of centigrades. Going from a 1" thick radiator to a two-inch thick radiator won't grant you 20C better temps, and probably not 10C better temps.

What's a hundred bucks when your system is overheating and you've got to run your fans at max to cope? Wha? Wha? This is a hobby, we are not doing this because it's cost effective lol. Looks at own rig, yea... I'm real concerned about cost. Oh and it's not a 100 bucks, its 85 and he can sell the old rad, but omg 100 sounds so much scarier.
