Ha yeah too much muscle. From the design of the Apogee its on springs to prevent this I thought but who knows. Just as long as my temps dont get insane all is well I suppose.

I was speaking a little more generally, I don't know about swiftech products as I don't use them. But I still believe you can over tighten mounts even with springs, unless the mounting system has a way of physically stopping the nut or whatever is used to force the springs down. Just a thought was all it was.

Oh yeah completely understand what you were saying. That very well may be some of it.

On a side note. There really wasnt a single cpu waterblock that I "just had to have". Seems like they all perform very similar to one another. Ive heard the swiftech block can be very restrictive flow wise. Not sure if a higher flow block would help or not.

It might be a little more restrictive than others, but it can't be that much more. Mine gives me awesome temps with a high oc, biggrin.gif

Yeah, I guess 5ghz at 1.44 volts its a pretty damn high OC so 70C in prime95 isnt too bad right?

CPU throttles at 95c. gunner.gif
People have different ideas of what is ideal, but most would accept your results as pretty positive. 70c with 5ghz@1.44 sounds good to me, especially if it's 24 hour prime stable.

Not really possible w/ Swiftech mounting. The screws bottom out. Their mounting > any other water block w/o a doubt.
