I'll keep that in mind if I find a way to get more fans connected. I just pressed the bottom to turn it up to pump speed 3, hope that makes a slight difference lol

Idk why but my idle temps have increased to like 44c. Idk what did this. I did go into bios and turn my memory from 1333 to its actual 1600. I also tweaked down my graphics card to 800mhz instead of default OC of 880mhz. Now I'm nervous :/

and that is what happened to mine after a while, it is normal, at least for me.

After a while of simply having the computer on? Maybe I over-worry about things but every time I purchase something temperature is an issue. I don't understand how other people seem to get around 32c or lower on idle. And this makes me think OC is impossible with this CPU... I mean for god sakes its at stock settings. I did attempt to OC before but people suggested it wasn't stable, so I went back to default. But I'm unsure if everything truly went back to default. Is there a way to reset the bios?

I have an h80 and i saw a big boost in fan speed and a few degrees cooler by hooking the fans directly into my psu via 3 pin to molex adapters. The water block connections seemed to be under powering them. Doing a push pull with the h100 with knock it down a few more degrees as well thumb.gif

The i7 3930k is a hot chip - fact - Mine used to run hot with the H100 that i had. I tried everything, re mounting it, every single push/pull config etc - but nothing made a difference. Turned out the block needed lapping - therefore it wasnt making good contact with the cpu = reason for my high temps. I wasnt able to OC past 4.1 (nothing for these chips) without temps going to 85+ in prime. - was annoying to say the least

My suggestions to you are: -

check / re mount the H100 - you will need some thermal paste tho - use MX4 - use correct amount tho - tons of info on here about how much to apply ( i would advise against As5 - its conductive) The H100 can be very difficult to get on the correct way, i had to rotate mine 90deg in order for it to line up properly - I have to say that despite the quality products Corsair usualy make, the H100 did not live up to my expectations. Having said that, it obviosuly does work for some people, i'd say i just got unlucky, who knows....

make sure that you dissable the CPU Fan controll in BIOS - this is essential if you are running the pump from the CPU_FAN header on the mobo

So I should take off the H100 from the chip, clean off the old paste, and apply that new stuff and make sure to move it around as I'm applying it?

I used to have H100 before i switch to custom wc loop , all i have to say is H100 will give you certain decent temp with certain oc , if you want to go higher oc i suggest get real wc loop
