Intel i5 2500k: Good OC Temps @ 4.6GHz?

Hey, I overclocked my 2500k about 1-6 months ago, and just decided to share my temps with you and see if they're normal. I have an Intel i5 2500k at 4.6GHz, and offset voltage at -.040 (that's minus point zero forty)... And LLC at High, and some other stuff.
Just wanted to say TwoCables is the best person on this forum wink.gif . He helped me so much with overclocking, and taught me how to do offset voltage biggrin.gif . Thanks TwoCables wink.gif .

Anyways. Here are my temps running Prime95 and 100% load:

Sorry about having that MSI Afterburner 2.2.1 monitor running in the background lolz. I couldn't minimize it lol.
Are these good temps?

Thanks wink.gif !

Temps look good. You should run Prime95 with large FFTs for the most heat, but everything looks fine.

Looks good to me but I got to ask. What kind of cooler are you using and does it have some sort of fan control. The reason I ask is that it looks like you temps piked at 67C and then leveled of to 61C.

Hyper 212+...
Will water cooling get me to low 50s or high 40s?

Thanks wink.gif !

Did for me. I never see higher than 49*C when benching CPU. With GPU stress tests on it goes up to around 55*C to 60*C.

That's a very good overclock using the Hyper 212+ ! Are you using 1 fan or 2?

Great work! thumb.gif

Those temps are very good compared to my 2700k. I have a Noctua NH-D14 with 3 fans and I get 4.7Ghz with about 1.37 V and on these warm summer days I peak at 81 degrees or so. I guess 4 memory sticks and hyperthreading are making a lot of extra heat for me.

You think I should get a Noctua, also?

Thanks wink.gif .
I'm using two, but I'm looking to get a Noctua NH-D14.

Really??? Arghh, now I really want water cooling, but I spent it all on a MSI R7950 Twin Frozr III biggrin.gif . I don't think I need water cooling, though. $300 for a gpu+cpu loop is too much for me.

Thanks all wink.gif !

Haha, it was well worth it for me. biggrin.gif I would have never been able to hit 1GHz on this card. I can't give any 3DMark11 links because it hates anything above 970MHz. I did bench my card stable on Heaven though. The only bad thing about watercooling is trying to disassemble a CFX/SLI w/ CPU loop. frown.gif Too much hassle.

But for $300, you could get another graphics card :O .
