Budget MOD "Pretty in pink" *updated with decent pics*

This is my first real "from the bottom up" mod so be easy on me plaese.


THE GOAL
I want to give my wife, who cares absolutely nothing about computers, a PC she will be proud to own. She only does homework and online classes on her rig so there is NO new up to date hardware (also no budget) So i set out with a few cans of spray paint and a dremel to give her hand me down raidmax tornado (blue) a facelift.

THE HARDWARE
As i said its all hand me down but with a face lift.

old Z something 400 watt. (custom sleeving ofc)

ASUS engts 450 direct cu top (may mod this)

FANS
some old 80's and 120's to be painted and have custom pink led's installed.

COLORS
Berry pink and gloss white.

I have not taken any pictures yet but i promise i will get some tomorrow of the current progress.

I have stripped primed and started painting various parts. I also have pink led's coming and am looking for some girly fan guards to possibly do some surgery on top of the case.

I can not promise this will even be worthy of being posted on this great forum but I will say that It will look nothing like the stock photo up top!!!

***8/24 Update**

So This build has kindof taken a back seat to the "project Blackbox" build Due to not having a sata HDD. I have managed to get it together and running but have not done much with the cable management or buttoned up a few loose ends. like sleeving a few extensions and painting some fans as well as Wiring up a few more LED's. Possibly have another "trick" up my sleeve for one of the front bays as well. Have a look at what I have going so far.


Pink led shot. They look pretty good.


Front panel. Semi finished. Need to wire pink in the power/activity Lights. Also have another idea I may try....



Rear fan with pink led's Worl's first pink led gelid silent???



Side panel. With 80mm pink led raidmax fan And a very messy inside pic.

Thanks. I am about to go take a few more pics before sanding. Anyone with a couple 120mm fan grills/filters they want to get rid of let me know. Rad ones will work too..

Custom fan grills anyone?
I think i can pull these off with some scrap plexi and mah dremel. maybe find a piece of sheet metal. Dont know for sure yet. I may even do one for the 80mm on the side.
Here are some super crappy pics i took with my old pos camera since my wifes phone was not available atm.

I am thinking the one to the left and white for sleeving.

Freezer pro and 450 to be painted and sleeved. I am just going to paint the top fin and the fan on the cooler. May paint the shroud and the metal side piece on the GPU.

Side panel. May cut out the crap in the middle but i have not decided yet. If i do the crown fan guard i will Cut just the center circle out and leave the little slash marks.

Btw everyone has seen a stripped down case thats half painted so i will spare you the crappy pics of that.

Ha. Its always been one of my fav's to look on here and see what people come up with when cash is no option. Guess i need to come up with something sweet to live up to the rest of the budget mods now.

Yes i am using the old spray can method lol. My grandfather has a paint gun and everything i would need but The shacker can method just seems to fit My style a little more

**edit agian** if anyone wants to know the total amount of cash in this mod so far is less then $10. 4 for the ram sinks and the rest in spray cans hahah.
