520$ Budget for gaming.

Thread Starter
My brothers Dell broke, and he now wants a gaming PC instead of getting a console and another PC. His Budget is 520$, and I came up with this so far.

DVD-RW
Case
HDD
GPU
PSU
RAM
Mobo
CPU
W7

All in all thats 520$. I decided to cheap out on the CPU, Mobo, HDD, and Case for a better GPU. If you make any suggestions, it cant go over 520, that budget has been set in stone. Also has to have Windows. Its a gaming build, mainly for SC2, TF2, Skyrim, and Portal 2.

TY in advance for any suggestions.

build looks solid. it will be able to play the games you have listed at max settings except for maybe skyrim, but for the money, it is a very solid build.

DVD drive is IDE, and nothing can really be reused. I'll look into the 6790 though.

Changed the mobo like you said, along with the PSU as a found a good cheaper one, and switched the GPU because the old one went up in price.

Here's one that I conjured up last night for a friend - all you need to have is a PSU and an OS.

EDIT: The end price was 519$. And he can overclock.

Without the OS and the PSU. that would bring it to 660.
