Thoughts On ASUS M5A97 EVO Overclocking

Thread Starter
Hello, recently I've been getting more and more into overclocking than I've ever been. I've also been experiencing a bit of problems with my cheezo cheapo motherboard http://www.overclock.net/t/1285487/1090t-error-on-msi-870-g45 So I've decided to start hunting for another board with the best price to performance. The ASUS M5A97 EVO comes out at the top of the list from my research so far. Firstly, its an ASUS. Second, MASSIVE VRM cooler. Third, Digital VRM's. Foruth, very inexpensive. So I'm probably going to get this board within a few weeks or so but firstly I want to gather up some opinions because I can look at specs and pictures all day, but I want to hear what real people have to say about this board, especiall with overclocking. As for the other hardware, I'll be using everything that's in the "Blue Computer" rig in my signature.

From what i've read from other members that use it, they usually like it.

It's a great budget board with good chops for overclock 6+2 phase quality vrm, with heatsink. Digi vrm, ect ect ect. It is a huge upgrade from your msi board and should easily support a 4ghz overclock on your thuban if your chip and cooling are up to it.
