There are video card support brackets like the one that comes with the coolermaster 690 ii advanced... but I wouldn't trust those. You could pad the inside with foam or take out the internal components and wrap them separately and put them in one box or individual boxes.

Depending on the quality of the shipping places near you (I've had really good experience with UPS and FedEx here in Canada), you could always ask for advice for packing, additionally I am pretty sure UPS in regards for the higher tier shipping insurance will actually require them to pack the item for you to make sure it is secure.

if it was an expensive card, I'd take the time to wrap it up separately.

that's alot of stress to be putting on the card and pcie slot

This,

Exactly why i keep my Graphics card boxes.. If it was say a soundcard i wouldn't bother. If you've got an aftermarket HS/F that's a bigger one I'd take that off too and put the stock cooler on. Though I don't have the box for my Hyper 212+ i'd still take that off for an example.

Just wrap it separately, then find a secure spot in the case or box, and ship it with the computer. Less stress. thumb.gif

My friend (the one I have been building a computer for) will be going back up to Idaho here n a three or four days, so I figured he should remove it and then i remembered that there were maybe brackets so he would not have to remove it. Me personally, I always remove it, I even tough him how to take out the Video card because that's what I recommended to him you know? But if there is a good solution to keep the video card form bending or breaking the mobo or it self over the 6 hour trip back to Idaho, I would like to do it for him u know?

I think it would be better to package it seperately. Just install the drivers and when he installs the card, go into windows and then reboot, everything should be all good to go.

I wouldn't recommend keeping the card in the system when shipping. Although if you must, Packing foam should be adequate.
