Same here. GA-Z77X-UP5-TH + 3770K. Anyone knows who make waterblocks for this mobo?
lmaosmiley.gif I addopted the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH and its blazing fast compared to my previous build.
I am uploading photo's from the build to my profile at this moment please check them out.
One small question still remains. Is there a proper sollution to get rid of the ATX12V+ cable running in from of the M/B?

Thank you all and cheers

Guys anyone debating over UD5 or UP5 check out amazon UK. UP5 for £169.99 free delivery. I had the very first UD5 (blue cap space between mem slots + only 1 cap at the back of cpu socket) my i7 2600k cud do 4.8 and 5ghz my issue was boot loops BUT i found that it was my memory causing the boot loops.

I went from UD5 to Asus P8Z77V- Pro then when i got my UP5 i just had to return the asus. The quality of the UP5 is just soma else. Just by looking at the caps the build quality is a whole new level. Ok the GB bios is no way as refined as Asus but most of us use the advanced section anyway. Im not dissin Asus in anyway ive had plenty of there boards over many years.

Its jus UP5 is so damn nice its a steal at £169 i dunno if its a mistake cos most places in UK sell UP5 for £250

By the way my new UP5 has purple caps no space between mem slots and a whole load of caps behind cpu socket. It only took me 10 mins or less to get my i7 3770K to 4.8Ghz 1.35v.

Now only thing left !! To de-lid or not to that is the question. Got liquid pro ready just need some balls now smile.gif

No waterblocks for this board that I know of.

no you cannot not use the 12v 8-pin connector, it is required on all Z77 motherboards. You can however use only half the plugs, so a 4-pin plug instead of 8 is okay.

Yea A lot of people like the UP5, it has better memory OC too for the most part. I don't think it is a typo as another guy bought it for that price. Maybe it is just a down price b/c its sales aren't too good b/c of thunderbolt, a lot of people don't feel the need to spend money on it.

All the new GB boards have the purple caps, they are really interchangeable, but if you have blue it would indicate your UD5H was part of the first big batch sent out to vendors. All my UD5Hs before launch had blue caps, i got 1 later launch with purple.

I'm having serious boot loop and power on issues with my UP5. Tried 4 different BIOSes including beta, stock values, no XMP, one stick of RAM etc. Sometimes it doesn't boot at all and I have to physically reset the BIOS using a jumper (not even the clear CMOS works). Sending the machine to sleep (standby) sometimes works, sometimes it never comes back on, sometimes it never actually goes to sleep (hard drives and fans are off but the SSD remains on and powering it back on results in boot loop).

This is the second UP5 board that does this.

I'm not willing to exchange the RAM (didn't have any such issues n ASUS mobos). I like everything else about the UP5 but not being able to trust its sleep/standby and it refusing to power on sometimes is a no go for me, even though it was a steal for 169 GBP at Amazon (the first was unsealed though, maybe these cheap ones are refurbished, not properly re-tested)

If nobody knows a fix then I may have to go back to an asus maximus v gene -- I so hate the lack of video outputs on the MVG though.

No, I'm using G.Skill TridentX 4x8 GB, this kit: http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=514

Sometimes it does 4-6 loops, sometimes it powers on and does nothing (one hdd clicks continuously, the led display flashes and displays junk and the bios led flashes), sometimes it does power on normally but the network card is not working and I have to restart again.
