i had one very nice USB stick, i got it from a review when i worked for theoverclocker magazine, and it was like $80 back then, a 32gb USB 3.0 patriot drive, it was very fast too, but then one day it decided to permanently make itself read only. i couldn't even get into files to copy them.

I just got a 16GB Kingston @ MC for 9.99 thumb.gif
but ya they go bad... and cheap enough to crush and recycle. never throw away

yea but it worries me, what if my 16gb turns out like that patriot drive and goes read only, sometimes i have important stuff on there that takes time to compile, like my benchmark suite for reviews and review information.

Got this puppy set up over the weekend. Immediately bumped the multiplier up to 40x, and it's completely stable (of course I'll push it farther soon). The BIOS had me a little confused at first where boot priority is concerned. It appears the boot priority applies primarily to device *type* (hard drives, optical drives, etc.), and I can only set a device up on the boot priority list if it is listed as the first boot item in the respective individual device type list. In other words, if there is an OS installed on the HDD listed first in the hard drives boot device type list, there is no way to set the second HDD in that list up in the actual boot priority. Had me scratching my head a bit, trying to get my Linux dual boot OS installed, until I was able to wrap my mind around it. Still not sure if I like that method or not.

Count me in! Picked up a UP4 TH for $100 this past weekend because I needed a basic Z77 board that could overclock well.
The clean looks are a bonus too.
Hopefully everything works out when I start testing in a couple days.

The UP4 has been excellent so far. After owning a UD5H, the extra features are nice but not needed. I haven't needed to clear cmos yet, this is after countless no posts/boots when oc the memory. When boot or posts fails, it just throws you back in the bios. No fuss.

I think the average user would have an equal experience whether using the UP4/UP5. Don't get me wrong, if MC would have had the UP5, I would of bought it just because. After owning the UP4, i don't regret it one bit. It's that good.

I like to find whea errors and monitor temps first using p95, cinebench, 3dmark11, and 64p BF3. Then go for the 20 hour stable run. Im going to try -.030 next. redface.gif

Hey you can change hardrive and other drive priorities under Harddrive BBS priorities, it is another menu you access inside the boot priority menu.
