NVm that doesn't work, it just shows a voltage around 1.2v, which is what I had set at the time. Perhaps version 1.61.2 works better? Do you have that version in x32?

Franck posted in beta testing folder arround 20..... x32 version last 2 weeks.
As I running last week still D3H, I trash all of them.
Since this week fireup UP5 and CPU-Z display Vtt voltage.

Btw,
Sin why PCH Core is not in BIOS?

The only thing that could be better is a proadlizer capacitor, however there are major shortages in Japan of these caps. But for now OS-CON Sanyo brand capacitors with ultra low ESR, from what i have been told actually have better ESR than the POSCAps they use.

Hm, the Evga X58 Classified, good old times rolleyes.gif
It was a motherboard that rocks and I was so close to get it. Its vrm have always impressed me with their volterra VT1185 MF/SF 10 phase + one low ESR ESL thin film ...

For now, I cannot but admire the new vrm solution from Gigabyte, drooling literally when I see the Z77X-UP7 (too expensive however) and 100% satisfied when I see all the UP5's results, even early results and with early bios versions, much better then the UD5H. I can't wait to get it tongue.gif

Btw, do you confirm its (UP5) audio on board is the same as the UD5's (with a good preamp section)?

It seems to be basically the same board as the Z77X-UD5H . Nice to see a Gigabyte mobo without ugly heatsinks. thumb.gif

Why does it NOT have a Displayport?

Why does it NOT have a Displayport?
Tbolt removes any need for display port. It combines the functionailty and protocols for display port with its daisy chain capabilities and storage and various other features like outboard gpu with the pcie feature. Toms hardware has an excellent article on everything one would need to know about tbolt

thin film=proadlizer but ye the X58 clasy blew beucase its average switching frequency was over 500khz, and capable of 1.2mhz, and people would do that. The reason being that is how volterra makes their VRMs, they run a bit hot, but they perform well. The high switching frequency causes the heat, that is why it needs a good heatsinks, however that is also why it doesn't need many output caps, just a lot of ceramics and a proadlizer.

UP5 looks like a sweet mobo ....it would be great mb if they could include 90 degree 24-pin CPU power plug on it ,the Debug LED is in pretty bad spot ...I don't get the UP4 idea ... there is no debug LED/readout points on UP4 which could/should be great sub $200 choice for benching MB just like UD3H ...

well hey can I ask a question, do you see any other motherboard maker provide those features on any sub $200 motherboard? Even sub $250? It is a new thing they tried, i was hoping too that they would keep doing it.
