If we refer to the naming in the user's manual, the slots marked DDR3_4 and DDR3_2 are not working , loop : error 51 -> reboot.
The two others DDR3_3 and DDR3_1 are working correctly.
Checkd all combinetions with each of the 4 sticks.

4 2 3 1
0 0 0 1 = OK
0 0 1 0 = OK
0 0 1 1 = OK
0 1 [0|1] [0|1] = KO
1 0 [0|1] [0|1] = KO
1 1 [0|1] [0|1] = KO

Checked the PSU and measured the voltage in the board and it seems OK (1.5V for the DDRVTT).
The PSU it's a CoolerMaster Real Power 850W. I've used it without problems with an Asus Rampage Formula, a Quad Core Intel overclocked at its max, 2 Radeaon 4780 overclocked also, for 3 years long. But everything it's possible smile.gif, i'll check tomorrow with the seller, it's close to my house and see what will come from. I boght the MB+CPU+RAM from the same shop, maybe he'll be kind enough to help.

Regards and thanks for your help.

Hi everybody,

I found the reason of my RAM initialization issue. After double-checking the mb socket pins, two of them bent and don't know how that's possible frown.gif. I just left off the protection en put the CPU without any force applied ! I didn't check them at the beginning before installing the CPU, i never had this kind of issue. Anyway, i managed to redress them, but the small heads were lost and the contact is done pushing the CPU toward dhe top edge. (see picture). .
The RAM issue is solved and no problem for the moment.
Anyway, I'm afraid broken pins that hardly make contac with the CPU will not last very long. Any idea if this can be passed under the guaranty? I checked the pins around and there is no sign of bending, or weaknees only these two one alone and i don't see how puting the CPU over will twist them.

Thanks for your help, and check the pins when you buy a new MB smile.gif ...

I would try and RMA and just tell them the pins are not bent but the heads are missing. Worst case is they charge you $50 to replace the socket.

I've heard Gigabyte approves RMA with few bent pins. Send them an email to be sure.

Hi,

Please bear with me, I'm new to the forums, just a month into a forced upgrade to this due to my old board's meltdown.

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP5 TH (BIOS f11)
i7-3770k (Stock 3.5Ghz)
Corsair Platinum Dominators 16Gb (8x2) 1866 (XMP Profile1)
Crucial M4 256Gb mSATA
LG2442V - LED Monitors x 3

Hold Overs...

Gigabyte Odin GT 1200W PSU
120Gb OCZ Agility 3 SSD
Inno3D GTX 295 on water
Swiftech ApogeeGTZ CPU block
Swiftech MCP-355 + XSPC restop
2x Samsung Spinpoint F1 1Tb
HAF932
GTX360 BlackIce Rad + Scythe Slipstream 110CFs
Fan Controller

Added I/O expansion cards

3+1 port USB3.0 PCI-e (Got 2 USB3.0 HDD Docks, and 1 BluRay on an ext box)
3+1 port Firewire PCI (I've got 3 Firewire External Drives)
ASUS SATA6G (Marvell) PCI-e x4 SATA Card (Internal DVD Drive attached)... planning to move the Agility back there soon

I've got a list of issues,

1. Boot Looping...

I didn't know this was what it was called. But after shutting down, if I try to immediately start it up...it'll spasm like crazy...lights turn on and off, and on again... the way to control this is to turn off the PSU, wait like 10 secs, then turn it back on and try powering it up again.

If I don't restart immediately, like if I come back later in the day, I don't have a problem booting up....

2. Surround monitor setup w/ the HD4000 and the new 4K drivers...

Anyone got this to work? I don't have Display Port splitters, unfortunately, but I have two minidisplay to HDMI and DVI adapters... No config seems to work. I thought it would work in side by side, like in their diagram. (except I only have 3 display.) What I've tried is 1 monitor on the HDMI, 1 on the HDMI from thunderbolt port, and the last on the other adapter DVI from thunderbolt port.

So atm, 1 monitor is on the HDMI off the GTX295, while the other two are off the native HDMI and a minidisplay to HDMI adapter. I can use 3 extended desktop displays.... but not 1 surround display.

** not really a biggie, since I have plans to upgrade to a GTX680...

3. Agility 3 on the Intel SATA III port is quite slow (reset the SSD already, no go).... but on the ASUS marvell adapter (shows up as a 2nd Marvel controller, btw), it's right up to where I expect it to be.

4. I need 1 more USB2.0 mobo header... saw a solution, a NZXT IU01, unfortunately the local distributor of NZXT doesn't have it.

5. Mouse support in UEFI bios... I always have to unplug and plug back to get it to work.

6. The HD4000 has deeper contrasts than my GTX295...couldn't fix it with Spyder...

7. The USB3.0 VIA PCI-e doesn't work on the third PCIe x 1 slot... only on the last slot (a full slot unfortunately).

Other than these...

I love the board!

Gaming on the center monitor is enough for now... @ 1080p highest settings , NFS Shift 2 - 40fps, Dirt 2 - Avg 45 fps, Dirt 3 - Avg 53fps, Grid - Avg 44 fps, BF3 though is only 20-23fps he he...in multiplay, I have to play @ LOW to get 45-55fps. smile.gif

1. Connect the PC
First, connect the two display port cables to the Mini DisplayPorts on the motherboard back panel. Each of these DisplayPort cables can then be connected to the splitter adapter.
Note: Depending on which splitter adapter you are using, you may need to use DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort adapter cables

I'm yet to mess with the setups.. But hope to soon smile.gif

Mine is still being shipped. I RMAd mine through newegg but they refused to do an advanced RMA for motherboards. Now I've googled some horror stories about newegg RMAs where they accuse of receiving the mobo with bent pins when it was sent with none. Thinking I shouldve RMAd directly to Gigabyte now!
