IMO just set it at extreme perf, because the VRM can handle it.
Right now I'm using the Performance setting for my 24/7 offset OC but I'll use the eXm Perf with higher OC's for sure wink.gif

Returning to my memory volt & settings, you said here:

"Memory Overclocking Guide and Results:
Tips for memory OC on the GIGABYTE boards.

VTT/IMC voltage: keep these in ratio, don’t just set the VTT at 1.2v and set IMC at 1.3v, IMC is lower than VTT, by anywhere from 0.01-0.1 volts. I use 0.05v difference. Go up slowly, as my CPU hated any increase in these voltages."

Supposing the max difference for the Imc is 0.1v (lower) than am I running wrong voltages right now with m vtt at 1.19v (I wasn't stable RS with 1.15v) and the Imc at "only" 1.00v?

Thanks once again biggrin.gif

on some boards the VTT and IMC wont set correctly unless they are within a certain value of each other, i just use that 0.05v rule to be safe. You can go more than that i would just check to make sure it worked.

It seems that I just can't manage to get the ram working well (stable) no matter what vtt/imc voltage ratio I'd choose redface.gif
And it's the vtt or the imc, not 100% sure of that but I can't see anything else

As I said before I thought I was stable at 1200 cl 9.11.11.31.1T @1.62v but with an older prime95 version (Blend)
I had the bios vtt: 1.19 and the Imc: 1.00 but the latest prime95 v.2.79 x64 ended up with a program crash after ~ 30'
Now I tried (for a couple of days) some new combinations of vtt/imc from 1.15/1.10 and up to 1.20/1.17 (mostly with 1.19 of vtt), nothing, even with the 1.65v of dram
It won't last not even an hour of blend torture test mad.gif

The worst scenarios would give an instant error on the all eight workers and otherwise I'l get the program running for about 20-25' and then I'm getting one thread (worker) stopped due to an error, or it will simply crash after about 30 minutes

Here is an example with the latest test at 4.6ghz, pll auto, dvid +0.50 and the vtt: 1.19v and imc: 1.13v
cl 9.11.11.28 and an error on the worker#3 after 19'

And the same sett. but with the cl 9.11.11.31, the bloody crash after 32'

It may be a stupid thing but I just can't get these two Tridenx working nice (RS I mean), I also made a dos memtest86+ (before, with the 1.15 vtt) and no errors. I even change and reseat the two banks in order to get the 1.5360V (in BIOS) as Stasio said before

I really thought this new platform (Ivy Bridge/Z77) was way better than my previous X58 system, especially with a top motherboard like the UP5 TH, speaking of 2400Mhz stock timings 2x4Gb of ram ...

Will tis apply to me? I have 2400 trident x f3 19200 ram with a ud5h board on its way?

It seems a few posts that have caught my eye my mobo has ram compat issues.

I really don't like the sound of that, as for years I had many issues with my old p5n 32e sli and ram!

Apparently not really. I mean you can charge it with PC off, but it doesn't charge 3x faster. I don't get more than ~0.5A which is normal current for phone charging over USB.

Have you tried just testing the memory without the CPU OC? Also you can give it more than 1.65v and see if that helps. You also really shouldn't need any IMC/VTT voltage increase, have you tried without it?

As I remember well it didn't even boot at default vtt & imc voltages, so I had to raise them (cpu default) at 1.15/1.10 (as advised on the g.skill forum) and then it was OK
I haven't try with lower vtt / imc voltages yet, also I've been with the F13a bios and now I'm using the F12g.
However, gonna try again considering your three tips smile.gif

Also, do you think my slew rate at 3 could be an issue?

Edit:
Since the F12g bios screwed up too (due to the high vtt/imc voltages imo) I flashed the latest Gigabyte (site) beta, F12e and with everything at defaults (no oc) I just set the Profile 1 (xmp) with the cl 9-11-11-31-2T of the stock Tridentx's and bump the dram volt to 1.65v
Now I'm testing with the same prime95 with the vtt/imc at their defaults too and it's holding just fine, more than 80' already passed, no errors thumb.gif
Gonna wait another hour and then will begin the cpu oc settings once again, any other tip?
And, btw, isn't this dram volt of 1.65v too high for a 24/7 Ivy bridge?

Thanks, without your help I'd ended up with a burnt Imc smile.gif

Ps
I forgot, no slew rate set at all (default values)

Well, I think it's enough smile.gif

And, not bad for a default, non cpu oc memory bandwidth

Ok, so it's up to the cpu oc now, gonna try a Metro LL bench at default cpu first, just curious biggrin.gif

Most stable BIOS's are F11,F12a and F12c (any with old GB LOGO screen).
Newest Beta's are still unfinished.
Btw,
when you set XMP, why you bump Vdimm to 1.650V?
