Hello all,
I'm not too PC build literate, so apologies if I leave out vital information, and sorry if I am unable to help others out with their questions!
I bought a readily built PC two years ago, which has been great, but is starting to slow down at certain times when using illustrator and photoshop!
OS - Windows 7 64 bit
Motherboard - INTEL DP55WB
Processor - INTEL XEON 3430
SSD - G.SKILL Falcon 64 Gb SATA-2
HD - Western Digital Caviar Green SATA 500Gb
RAM - Kingston ValueRAM DDR3 2x2 Gb
Graphics Card - PNY NVIDIA Quadro FX580 PCI-Express 512mb DDR3
It still works well, so I was looking at what upgrades could make a good difference. For example I'm thinking of adding 2 similar Kingston 4 Gb RAMs in the 2 free slots available to make 12Gbs!
I was also wondering if adding a second graphic card would work alongside the first with this motherboard, and if it needs to be the exact same to do this? Or, if it would simply be easier to replace with the next version NVIDIA Quadro FX600?
Ps Have I ruined my SSD drive by defragmenting it every few months (until now when I saw this is not a good thing to do)?
Really appreciate any help anyone can give. I get a wee bit more PC wise each time.
Best regards and have a happy day,
David
