I Need a New Monitor

Ok, so I'm a monitor noob here and I need a little help on choosing my next monitor.

So I have a 22" Spectre monitor, but my DVI port on it died and I cant get my 1080P out of the monitor and 1650 by whatever is a bit of a turnoff. I thought I knew what I was doing 3+ years ago when I bought the monitor, but turns out the monitor that I have did not do true 1080, but up converted or something similar...

Regardless of the history, I'm due for a monitor upgrade soon and would like some suggestions so I can start looking. I've wanted to get into the larger resolution of 1440P, but those were out of my budget back then. However, I can take a look at those again if some one has suggestions. Monitor size isn't the most important thing as I love my 22", but as this is an upgrade, a 27" monitor would be nice.

If anyone can suggest any decent monitors that are between 22"-27" and have a resolution of 1080P or up would be greatly appreciated.

What is your budget?

Also most Samsung Monitors are usually a good bet.

I would like to stay under $250 (under $200 optimally ) as I'm buying a monitor and not an new t.v. That is not a hard budget however and if I pay marginally more for a great product, I wouldn't mind much.

Most of the direct-from-Korea 27 inch 2560x1440 displays are in the 350$ to 450$ range. I was just able to get a Potalion 2710QW (pixel perfect) for 320$, and should be getting it today. PM me if you want a link to the seller on eBay.

That's a little more than I want to pay for a monitor, but that is about half the price of the 2560x1440 monitors on the egg. Are there any smaller Korean monitors at that resolution that are a tad cheaper?

A good one under $200.

That's about what I would be looking at on my own thumb.gif. However, I'm looking to see if I can get a little better than that.

Side note: I started to see threads about catleap monitors. Can anyone shed light on those? Also, can anyone shed light on features I should be looking for in monitors other than screen size and resolution and things I should run screaming with arms flailing from?
