Recommend me a DSLR kit - Page 7

Indeed, a Sandisk extreme and a Pelican 1450.

The way I look at it, not only am I supporting a mom and pop shop (I know...initially, all I thought about was the gift card...which I used for other things anyway) I'll be able to get breaks on future purchases.

With that said, I'll be buying the camera. wheee.gif

thats a fairly good price.

btw you might want to get a bag also cause the pelican is pretty heavy to carry around. i have teh 1510 roller and i only use it for travel/storage because it is so damn heavy.

Yeah, I probably will. I have to wait for a new Pelican as the only one he has in the store is slightly damaged.

I'll have a new one tomorrow...along with the camera. smile.gif Apparently, he doesn't have a 64GB SD card in stock even though his system was showing one, so I'm getting a free 16GB as well. I can pick up the 64GB any time after Wednesday next week when he was more in stock. Nice guy.

I'd have it today, but I'll be working late past his shop hours, and another day won't kill me. smile.gif

I'd suggest a t3i/t4i with an 18-135mm IS USM lens. They go for cheap on Ebay, not sure what your standing is on Ebay though. thumb.gif

Thanks again for all of the help, gents. Picked up the camera and accessories about an hour ago.

It was sweet in a way. He was so happy (stating he was so sick of window shoppers) that he told me he felt obligated to do something for me and GAVE me a 2nd Pelican 1450 for free! It's pretty much an extra that i'll have no use for, so if anyone has a decent soft travel case that's comparable for trade....redface.gif. (hope that's within the TOS...sorry if it isn't...feel free to delete)

Thanks again everyone! I've since ordered a 35DX (thanks for the heads-up Sub) and T-adapter in order to mount on my Orion refractor and hopefully take some decent nighttime shots of the moon/planets. A 99% solar filter is next. smile.gif I'll be joining the photography thread soon! wheee.gif

Forgot to mention my Extreme SD will arrive with the DX.

...and a invisible rep to you Mista B...lol. Thanks again.

That 35DX will probably never leave your camera. Congrats on the purchase, the D7000 is killer -- if I wasn't so obsessed with the D700/D300 ergonomics, I might have bought one by now (if I was still shooting BMX and field sports, that is).

edit: I might be interested in that Pelican, I've got a couple bags here I don't use (LowePro Fastpack 200, black + Crumpler 7MDH, brown). Think you could snap a couple pictures with the D7000 in the one you are using now for reference? Thanks, Bro Namath.
