Looking for clearance clarance. Opinions wanted.

Sorry about the super cheesy title, but it really sums up what I'm looking for some help with. I'm trying to scrap together a PC slowly here. I'm working under a pretty tight budget as well.

So far I've amassed:

  • 965 Black
  • ASUS M5A88-V EVO Socket AM3+ AMD Motherboard
  • Noctua NH-D14
  • Black CoolMax 500W ATX12V / EPS12V Computer Power Supply
  • Some 500GB HDD
  • Sapphire 100328L Radeon HD6770

After this list of items my question is are there any mid-tower cases that will give my super ginormous heat sink proper clearance while sustaining good air flow? I've been really looking at the NZXT Phantom series both the full and mid as well as the Aerocool Syclone II.

As I said before I am on a budget and everything I've bought so far has been on super sale so I'm really not wanting to purchase a full tower if I don't have to. They're all way too expensive if you want something that looks decent. Any and all help/opinions would be completely appreciated. Thank you.

--Edit-- I didn't realize until yesterday that the Syclone II case is a complete piece of garbage. If those front four fake fans were real it would totally make it worth it.

Anyone have any feedback on this issue at all or should I post in the Air cooling forum section?

You keep it in this section.

Here are just a few. They are about $70.00-$100.00. You didn't exactly state a budget.
Cooler Master Storm Scout, Antec 900, Cooler Master HAF 922.

Yeah I should have stated my budget. I'm just not looking to spend more than 115 before tax/shipping.

Also, would anyone know if those two cases, the phantom and syclone II, have enough room to operate with my heat sink. Especially since I noticed they have some pretty big fans in those cases.

In my opinion, NZXT cases are soooo overrated. You can get a much better case for that price. They also put so many features in their cases, but they do it the cheapest way possible.
But to answer your question, yes it will fit in those two cases.

Zalman Z9 plus, pretty hard to beat the functionality for around $60.

or the Z11 if you like the looks

the included fans, controller and temp sensor with LED readout on the Z9 make it pretty much unbeatable at that price range.

The Corsair 300R is also a great value

I agree with the 300R. Or even the 400 or 500R

Thanks for the feedback guys. My own style I'd lean towards the Z11 plus. It's so hard to find cases that have crazy styles, with functionality included. I could completely see why you guys are a fan of those Cooler Masters though.
