Home Security Cameras

Hello, I have recently acquired a few security cameras and a "Network DVR". I got these items for free so i figure i put them to use around my house. I could not find the link to the camera name but i have the link to the DVR which is "http://www.directron.com/dvcltd7708ht.html". I was wondering what cables do i use to hook up the cameras to the dvr?

A picture of the camera and the dvr is below. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I just finished installing mine a couple months ago. You need some BNC connectors / Cables. You can get them from Newegg, Tiger etc. I'll post an example link below.

Thank you! I've been searching for the wrong cables all along, i thought they were some sort of RCA cable. Also thank you for providing a link for the cable.

buy that in bulk too. it gets expensive if you try and buy short lengths. and its pretty easy to make your own as well with a crimper and plenty of end pieces

One more question, i see the Cable both powers the camera and sends video to the DVR. My question is do i have to buy a separate power box for powering the cameras or can i plug the other end of the power cable from the camera into the dvr?

Depending on the DVR box maybe, but I don't think your has the ability to do that. My cams run off separate power supplies. You need something like THIS

Mine use the specs below:

Input: 100-240V - 50/60hz, 35-42VA, 0.6A

Output: 12V ---- 1.5A

If you have a hard time finding cables and power supplies, PM me.

I've installed quite a few systems throughout my company. I use pretty much only Lorex products, and buy 4 in 1 power supplies, so I have a bunch of individual ones laying around. From what I've seen most brands of cameras use the same spec PS. I might also have some extra BNC cables.
