DFI Ifinity VS Asus P5W-DH?

Thread Starter
whats the major differences between both... im debating with a more experienced friend on what to get, he is really pushing me in the direction of the Infinity because he sais the voltage is higher on that board?... but i get alot of suggestuiong on forums to get the P5W-DH. could anyone clarify the major differences and the pros and cons?

im going to use a conroe e6600 and raid0 and possibly sli in the future. so i dont mind paying for it, and obviously overclock it.......

thanks!

I have the DFI, and now they finally have a decent BIOS. I don't remember the highest setting

Also, the DFI does NOT have a CPU multiplier adjustment option. Also, only the newest BIOS has decent RAM options for overclocking.

For the Core 2 Duo, I don't think the voltage limitation for the ASUS is an issue. Those CPUs overclock really well on the P5W, and the available voltages exceed what this CPU needs under normal circumstances (you're not going Phase... are you?)

I got the DFI as a board to carry me over to the DFI RD600 based board. For this, it performs well enough (I get 3.51GHz out of my E6600 on air)..

Do remember it's an Infinity and not a Lanparty, and thus does not have all the bells and whistles of the Lanparty (it doesn't even have cooling on the Southbridge..)

SLI runs fine on it as well with modded drivers.

That should be on either board, since both are 975X boards

Yeah, for Intel systems, ASUS is the best in terms of performance and support for Intel based boards. I wouldn't go any other way for any of my own personal systems.
