Is it ok to leave PSU On/Off button on?

Just recently bought a Seasonic M12II 520w coming from a crappy generic power supply which doesn't have a PSU On/Off button.
Would it damage my computer if I left the PSU On/Off button on?

Nope it's fine to leave that one at all times, I do.

Sometimes you need that if your computer crashes and only way to reset the computer is to shut that button off and on again.

It won't hurt anything. I actaully haven;t touched the switch (it is actually an on/off switch) on the PSU in almost 6 months. Only time I do is when I am working on my computer.

Leave it on. When it's on the +5VSB rail is present, which powers your system clock and allows you to use USB when your computer is off. If you turn off the PSU you lose the +5VSB rail, which means that your system clock is powered only by the CMOS battery, which will wear down faster. Also you won't be able to use USB when the computer is off.

Cool, I didn't know that! But does this USB thing work on older motherboards? I haven't tried, gotta see for myself later smile.gif
