It would be hell to balance at first, not to mention the alienating of the players. Players would have to re-examine their ability rotations and learn all the new effects of their abilities.
In short there is no simple solution, but Blizzard is doing a great job with not making the game overly complex.
Make old players re-learn their new abilities and confuse new players.....

Hmmm....

I wonder if that has ever happened before....

Oh wait.

Every goddamn expansion.

2 comps right now. rls, ret priest dk. really the dk can be a rogue too since rets are op and the reason rls loses. if you like arena and are a skill purist (even the r1 players i know are not purists) then forge is gonna be the game for you. which is supposedly releasing beta or footage around the time MoP is being released\
as someone who quit wow because cata was terrible but mostly because i was a hardcore scbw player and switched to sc2, im actually giving it a shot and leveled a bunch of healers to give myself options for arena. since shamans have been the best healer for quite a while now and priests are always in a #2 spot i imagine nothing will change except maybe druids will be op first season since they sucked past 4 and bliz prob will overbuff them\
changing all the spells and talent trees to give "options" is enough of a change to warrant a SHOT and i may be the biggest blizzard game hater ever

Yea. That post is so wrong it makes me wonder if you are trolling or legitly that supid. RPM and RLS are the top two atm by far(both involve rogues). But hundreds of teams are within 25 points with random other class subs...cause they are good and not cannon fodder. You admit you left the game and game back and then give angry info on how much you know. no thanks. Go back to SC. thumb.gif

No again you are overstating it. They have made small adjustments over time, with a few overhauls, but nothing as drastic as what you are asking for. The only class to have gone through massive changes through an expansion or patch has been Paladin, which needed it badly. It was never a complete class in vanila and the changes in BC and WotLK finaly made it so.

hunter from Mana to Focus wasn't a big overhaul of the class?
O_O?
especially right b4 cata, where they implemented the change...but didn't give us hunters the ability aspect to regen focus while moving? (if i remember correctly, aspect of fox didn't come in until lvl 83)

Major changes to classes always happen in the last month of an expansion to allow raiders a chance to adjust and to give people shiney new things to play with before an actual expansion dropped, Aswell as game engine updates, platform updates and to test out any major bugs with things, PTR can only be used to test so much no beta will ever provide the same amount of realworld testing that a real world release will, I'd say less then a million people actively use the beta realms, But more then 9 use live. all healers are once again getting an overhaul when 5.0 drops.

I still don't understand the fanboyism of GW2(which i found boring btw) in a wow news thread, Or the bickering snipes against people who enjoy the game by a certain networking nut who has literally done nothing but bicker at people the entire thread, surprised mod's haven't closed it yet.

i agree with you here, im just arguing against Magariz's claim that the only change ever was to pally and pally power

i'd say the fact that a class running off of a 8k deduction mana system being put into a 100 focus bar is a HUGE difference

Ive been playing hunter since 08 or so. Though im not sure if I really liked the focus to mana change, it wasnt drastic and hard to cope with. In fact, I picked up the new rotation and concept quickly on my own, and im a pretty average casual player. So if you couldnt deal with the change, youre a horrible player, or just stubborn.
