[RedOrbit] Internet Speeds Doubled By Comcast, Countering Verizon’s Recent Upgrades - Page 13

I'm usually getting speeds of about 22-25d and about 5 up but My problem isn't that its to slow its that I get disconnected at least every few hours so I have to constantly reset my modem!!! Sure this will be nice when it hits the chicago land area but I doubt it will solve my connection issues. Hopefully this problem will go away but its pisses me off when I'm in a Raid or bg or playing any online game only to be disconnected especially before I get the LooTZ or win the match!!! And comcasts customer service hasn't been able to do anything to help me they are terrible not to mention the sometimes 30-45 minutes of being on hold (although they do have a call back option now)!

/end rant

Sorry I've just been having issues with them lately, hopefully this upgrade will be able to justify the poor customer service and high price!

Everyone has the same cap. (Most) Tennessee users didn't have the cap before August 1, 2012. We could download as much as we want. Now they implemented it and are actually keeping track of it. I don't see what you mean by "exploring different options" when it's implemented at the moment.

They're still testing it in different markets though. Just because you have a certain cap in place doesn't mean any of us do. I know I don't as i've been going well over 500GB a month for the past 3 and haven't paid an extra penny yet. Like someone said they're either going to go through with the tiered data I explained a few days ago or they're going to do set caps based on the speed package you get. My money is on the 300GB tiers, but I wouldn't be suprised if they did a combination of tier + package limits. 50 gets 300 to start, 105 gets 500 to start, 300 get's 1tb to start, etc. Granted those are probably gross exagerations of the data caps, since this is comcast after all, and we all know how comcast loves money.

Funny, I never mentioned anything else other than the Tennessee Comcast service being capped. Nor did I say Comcast is capping their service nationwide effective immediately. thumb.gif

And all this time they were telling us they needed to set caps because there were problems with having enough bandwidth to go around. What's that? Oh, you guys were lying to protect your business model? A juggernaut competitor backed by unlimited wireless money came out with huge bandwidth and you need to scramble to compete? Suddenly there's enough bandwidth? Oh, I see.
