Battlefield 3 Eyefinity - Single Overclocked 7970 VS 2gb 6950 Crossfire Gameplay Comparison Videos

For all those interested. I did a quick performance test video with my overclocked 7970 with Battlefield 3 in Eyefinity. When i was researching 7970's i would have loved to see this post so i'm posting for all those like myself that are thinking of replacing their corssfire setup for a single 7970. Best decision i ever made. LOL. All the settings in game between the two videos are the same. The 7970 not only averaged a higher fps but it's also butter smooth and that can be seen in the videos. Play both videos at the same time and watch how much smoother the 7970 is with eyefinity compared to the 6950 crossfire. It's amazing! Please like up the 7970 video as it helps my channel get more exposure. I really appreciate it. Hope this was a helpful thread to those of you researching 7970's. besure to check out all my other eyefinity videos.

Game Settings Resolution: 5072x1050, All Ultra, FXAA: High, MSAA: Off, HBAO: On, Blur Off, 16xAF

Finished my Overclock on the 7970 it offically kicks my 6950 crossfires butt not only in games but in benchmarks too. LOL ended up completely stable at 1230/1700@1.237v Very nice if i do say so myself. LOL

what happend reducing memory a bit , using power tune on msi afterburner and apply a bit more of tdp probably could get 1300mhz biggrin.gif

no it's not going above 1230 for stable 24/7 overclock. LOL i maxed the core at 1260 but would crash here and their with random games. Then found 1230 to be stable. Then i upped the memory to 1800 but was unstable in certain applications. I backed it down to 1700 as i wasn't having a dramatic impact on performance. it was just raising the temps. After an hour of BF3 the card never got hotter then 61c. I love this card. LOL

ok, but I wanted to say "power limit" biggrin.gif

Edit: Try Crysis 2 at that res with high texture patch and also dx11+ ultra , metro 2033 at max, AVP3 at max BF3 with all ultra+maxed, crysis 1 and compare memory usage, fps increase over 6950 and temps in games biggrin.gif

That is rule one in overclocking. Lol but power limit wouldn't help me get to 1300mhz. I would need more voltage and it's just not stable at any voltage really past 1230mhz

I found a tiny bit of instablity at 1230/1700@1.237v so i went to 1220/1700@1.25v and its rock solid. Plus temps don't go past 61c after 4 hours of gaming. LOL NICE!
