This wouldn't make MSFT any richer.
What does he mean by PC/OEM's? To me that is hardware manufacturers. Why would hardware companies stop building hardware just because of an OS? Excuse my ignorance folks, but I am having a very hard time understanding what is going on here. I have not read anything about windows 8 what-so-ever. I just know its supporting ARM and x64.

Yes, yes they are. Our brand spanking new 10.8 has three options. 1) install whatever you want, 2) Install only signed apps, 3) install only apps from the MAS. Remember it's for your security daddy Cook knows better than you. I'll bet you guys will be in the same situation soon enough with daddy Ballmer.
My gut tells me that 10.9 i.e. next year option 1 will be gone, and two releases later 2 will be gone. If Apple can get Adobe and MS on board no one will care really which is the sad part.
