Intel Xeon W3520 (Bloomfield) GTX 470

Thread Starter
I'm getting a Xeon W3520 (Bloomfield) and Asus Sabortooth x58 for a really good price.

I was wondering will the PSU have sufficient amount of watts to feed all of them? I do intend on overclocking it at least to 3.8GHz.

My current PSU is Antec 550W: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371016

I also purchased 212 Evo for the optimum cooling.

Thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply.

theoretically speaking, I may come close to the limit though.

Xeon W3520 130W
GTX 470 215W?
Motherboard ~50W?
2 HDDs ~20W?
3 120mm Fans ~15W?

430 watts total system consumption in theory. This is everything at stock speeds. It worries me there a bit.

That's a peak draw, and it's still 120W less than capacity. A good PSU will output its rated power continuously, you have nothing to worry about.

Sounds good! My PSU is 80 Plus rated, so that's a plus. tongue.gif
