Need a new CPU Cooler for my 2500K and UD5H

Thread Starter
I think the TIM on my default cooler has lost all effectiveness because the CPU is running at 45c-50c on idle.

Does anyone know of any cheap(ish) CPU coolers and paste and cleaner?

The Thermalright archon is too expensive but the True Spirit 140mm is £35 looks just like the archon. Would this fit on my UD5H when it comes to VRM spacing and that I have the top PCI-E 1x slot occupied?

edit: My dumb self has been using the word Euro for £. Gah.

This is the 2nd to best TIM in the world you can get:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B002U2T6NI/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new
http://skinneelabs.com/2011-thermal-paste-review-comparison/3/

I have no idea on European currency, but if you could shell out just £10 more Euro, you could get this watercooler:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B004LWYE4Q/ref=sr_1_3_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1343260110&sr=8-3&condition=new

Total would be £56 Euros shipped and you would have one of the best CPU cooling solutions besides a custom water loop (££).

Thanks for the reply but there is no way in hell that I'd ever let any water remotely near my rig.

For £54 I did see the Noctura NH-C14 which looks good for keeping the VRM cool. That was another question I was about ask too. To downward facing HSFs work more efficiently than standing up ones?

Parallel (to mobo) heatsinks work better in small HTPC cases that have low profile. Otherwise, a perpendicular (regular) one would be better at directing airflow out of the case.

Anyways, I would personally go for the watercooler. It's a closed system, meaning no maintenance on your part. I have the H100 which is similar, and it installs just like a big bulky air cooler would and it works really good and requires no changes wants its installed.

These things are also specifically designed to not leak, ever. A lot of work goes into testing and ensuring no leaks occur.
