But this refresh rate thing interests me... Is a higher refresh rate worth taking over resolution even? For example, would you rather 1440p @ 60hz, or 1080p @ 120hz?

Lol 2560x1440 ips 60hz is much better then 1080p 120hz

I had an offer for a trade deal.. Someone offered me 3 120hz 1080 monitors for the Dell U2711 i was selling I turned it down.. Sold my U2711 Bought a catleap and a gtx 680.. And not looking back..

so that means SLI and it just kept adding up.
plus i was reading around and a fair point was made. one bloke said he'd much rather the sharpness and detail that comes with a higher resolution over a smoother performance at a lower resolution. and i agree thumb.gif
will post comments when i get mine. fingers crossed they release those PCBs though. would be nice to be able to up the refresh to even 80-85hz or something.

let us know how it is! GL

haha wow ok got it running just now and its pretty damn epic. beautiful looking screen. i can see what they mean about the whites looking a little bit bluish but honestly, its nothing to be worried about. gives the monitor a sort of warmer look haha.

opted for the perfect pixel one with 0 dead pixels, thats what i got. no dust in the screen either. bout to game on it now.

so far, for $375, total win.

To each their own though!

I agree... I pwned everyone on my clan that is running 120Hz in BF3...and I'm running a 2560x1440 60Hz monitor! biggrin.gif:thumb:

I can assure you it's not. At least not for gaming, which is the topic of this thread.

I have a U2711 in front of me right now.

In my experience, this depend very much on the kind of games you play. IMO, FPSs (especially if you like to play more competitively) benefit from 120hz much more than, for example, MMOs, for which I'd rather use a higher res IPS.
