Just Some Questions About Water Cooling

Thread Starter
Ok so ive been looking at ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106190 ) (or any other good ones you guys know of).

Q1: i have the Haf 912 case with the holes for water cooling, My main question is how do i put the tubes thru the holes if i cant mount it inside or does it mount inside, My box shows it on top?

Q2: not really a question but just advise on water cooling. Yes im on air now.

Q3: list any other units that would be good, my spending limit is gonna be from $50-$150 ish

and im putting in a new motherboard not sure what one yet, 8Gb of ram and a new ATI 7970 around income tax time and keeping my Phenom ii x4 965BE

Thanks:)

For question 1, I don't own that case so i cannot comment much on that. If you're cooling just your CPU, you should be able to fit everything internally instead of mounting it externally.

Question 2, this is good place to start http://www.overclock.net/t/226970/updated-water-cooling-essential-threads Read as much as you can so that you can be ready if problems come up.

Question 3, for your budget level one of the RASA kits are excellent for starters if you don't want coolers like the corsair/antec coolers. You can expand upon those if you wanna put more things underwater later. http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/coliki.html

Highly suggest asking all your water cooling questions here in the OCN Water Cooling Club And Picture Gallery

But the biggest problem with the Zalman kit you linked is it's rad/res. is aluminium. This reacts with copper and other metals.

All in one systems are great and hassle free thumb.gif

Any build it your self kits are great but become expensive when you get bitten by the "water cooling bug" biggrin.gif

Great beginner kits are the XSPC D5 and DC 750 kits, they have enough flexibility to progress more after.

It should be good enough for CPU and GPU.

General rule of thumb

#1: 120mm rad. per block.

#2:120mm rad. per block plus 120mm, but that sounds a little to much.

But if you live in an area where the room temp. gets high >25 Celsius (77F) I would then suggest running with rule #2

Oh and I quite like my kit as well, you could take a read through this thread to get more understanding and in site.
