Seasonic X-460 fanless psu and My System :)

Thread Starter
I am planning on getting a fanless Seasonic X-460 PSU to make my case completely silent. I use my case with only 2 case fans 12mm at back @300 rpm and 14 mm at front @ 300 rpm and a Arctic cooling freezer pro 13 cpu cooler and its fan @ 500 rpm. My system is: i5 2500k @ 4300 mhz , Msi Z77A-G43, 120 gb ssd, a low end passive cooled hd 5450, and a Cooler Master 690 II advanced case. As you see I run this system nearly dead silent. So my only fan I hear is from my psu. Now I want to replace it with a fanless Seasonic X-460. If I get a Seasonic X-460 fanless psu and only make case fans and cpu fan move faster when I play games and when I finish playing and just surfing net I turn them to the lowest level ( 300-500 rpm) ? Will it be a solution if I do this? I also use my case side open and when I am not playing games I lower my 2 case fans to 300 rpm and I use my cpu arctic cooling pro freezer 13 cooler fan @ 500 rpm. If I only make my fan rpms faster when I am gaming, and back lower them , will I use x-460 fanless psu without too much trouble?

Unless your room temperature is like, very hot, there's actually no reason to be this concerned about it because the heat being generated by your system is almost nothing.  I mean, the 2500K is only at 4.3 GHz, and you have just one 5450 which itself produces almost no heat.

However, with that 500W Xigmatek, I'm not surprised you're hearing the fan.  You could probably spend less money and get something like Corsair's CX430 and still be quiet.  Still, a fanless PSU is pretty slick and you could have that with even a 400W fanless PSU.

I bet it will be fine but if you are worried the fan in the Seasonic X650 almost never runs. It only run when stressed and hits a certain temp even then you won't know it's running. My X750's fan turns on then right back on practically.

No, because the load would always be so small that even Seasonic's 400W fanless PSU would always be cold.

Get a flexible silicone keyboard. You won't here anything. But seriously don't, they suck. We use one on out water jet at work at it is the most annoying thing ever.
