I noticed that also. I wonder if each batch will go up $10 until they get to the "MSRP". However if you are selling all you can make that is to be expected. The law of supply & demand is usually pretty efficient. The sellers on Amazon that are selling the Yamakasi monitors raised their prices also. The PR on this monitor brought awareness of this class of monitor into the mainstream.

lol @ FOV 70 on BF3 with this rez, 90 would be better for the testing I think

this looks worse compared to the 27Q, but for $40-50 difference and all these display inputs, what the hell biggrin.gif

I am using Eyefinity6 cards that have 6 DisplayPorts and I use these for productivity also. So to get the max resolution on ALL the ports I need DisplayPort capability. I can use the DVI with an adapter but only on 2 monitors.

These Korean imports come with a caveat from those shippers that are reputable. There is a long list of POWERFUL(but older) video cards that the imports are not compatible with. My card is listed. I am specifically using 2 - 2GB HD5870 Asus Eyefinity6 cards. http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/AMD_Series/5870_Eyefinity_66S2GD5/#specifications The imports will NOT work with my cards. I have used these cards for 3D, "surround" gaming, and trading on 6 1920*1200 monitors. They worked fine with the Nixeus. This shows me the quality of the electronics inside the monitor and that is worth a lot to me as I use these for productivity most of the time, not gaming.

These cards cost $625 each from Newegg. I was fortunate enough to get them both for $560 brand new with the receipt from Newegg from the original purchaser. (Long story short-the original company bought them and later bought an HP Enterprise computer. The HP representative then told them that if they put those cards in their machine it would void their warranty.

To get a cheaper korean monitor I would have to invest in a video card. The only one that would fit my needs would be this HD7970 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121560 because of the ports it has.

In looking at the total cost of ownership I am better off buying Nixeus Vue monitors. Next year I may be looking to purchase a new video card in the AMD 8xxx series or the Nvidia 7xx series.

From what I am reading and from the ASUS 5870 card you have - you are using a mini-display to displayport cable to connect to the Vue?

Also with the cheaper Korean monitor imports you may need an "Active" displayport to DVI-D adapter that runs an additional $70+ per unit for you in some cases vs a cheaper displayport only cable to go multi-monitor with the Nixeus Vue.

Thanks for the info and Keep us updated on how everything goes. thumb.gif

Correct, on the first part.

On the second part, the Korean imports apparently will not even work with my card with active adapters. I have one that I had to use with using more than 2 monitors in a 1920*1200 eyefinity setup.

The Nixeus works well with DisplayPort. While I have connected the DL-DVI cable to the monitor I have not connected it to the computer.

Does Comp-u-plus charge immediately for pre-orders or only when the item is being shipped like Amazon handles it?

From my experience with pre-orders through Amazon, even though it is from a 3rd party seller, you will not be charged until it ships and you have a tracking number.

The third party seller on Amazon, Electronica Direct, and Comp-u-plus both have a policy similar to Amazon's own policy. We also work closely with our authorized re-sellers to help resolve customer service and warranty requests.

Did Nixeus have plans of putting out a model with less optional connection points such as DVI or DP ports only?

Yes, we are currently looking into adding more products to the Nixeus Vue Family.

If the 75Hz is achieved through factory settings for the Nixeus Vue 27" it will not void warranty.

For clairfication, we understand the community loves to overclock, customize, or tinker with hardware. However, if our technicians receive an RMA unit and the technicians concluded after research/testing that the issue was due to custom mods or extreme overclocking - then yes we have the right to void warranty.
