Can you confirm that ATI Catalyst is reporting it as a supported Hz? If it's in italics it isnt supported.

Peter, just to set the record straight;

For clairfication, we understand the community loves to overclock, customize, or tinker with hardware. However, if our technicians receive an RMA unit and the technicians concluded after research/testing that the issue was due to custom mods or extreme overclocking - then yes we have the right to void warranty.

In the Catalyst Control Center under "My Digital Flat Panels" when the NX-VUE27 is chosen the Maximum reported refresh rate is 75HZ. However, I notice when you go to the screen resolution panel in Windows and choose Advanced settings, the monitor tab reports a refresh rate of 60HZ.

IN another forum [H]ardforum, I started a thread about the Nixeus here is what was posted.

Can you try overclocking your monitor?
NO!!

lol, The company is aware of this trend in monitors and has a statement that overclocking will void the warranty. HOWEVER, it will do a max of 75Hz as reported by the AMD Catalyst. I do not know if that is in max resolution or not. So far I do not see any tearing and it is as smooth as my 24" monitors which are PVA panels.

I mostly use my monitors for productivity and I already have a 120HZ monitor for S3D gaming. I am too old to be "Overclocking" anymore. While I started the thread on the other forum it hasn't gotten nearly as much traction on the monitor as this forum has.

i'm just curious because yes, ATI does let you do 75 but it's not a supported refresh rate by the monitor. I have an Auria which isn't a copy, while it looks very similar, and it does display 75hz in catalyst but in italics, which indicates it is not a supported refresh rate reported by the monitor for that resolution.

its a little misleading, but if windows doesnt let you through their monitor properties it's probably not supported as reported by the monitor.

In AMD Catalyst on my computer the 75HZ is not in italics.

Saw the same thing when my brother hooked the Nixeus Vue up to his AMD 7850...hmmm...ph34r2.gif

But it didn't work with my Nvidia GTX 670 - I get the "Out of Range" message when I try to set 75Hz for custom resolution in the Nvidia Control Panel...

When playing Crysis2, I get offered 60HZ max.

Anandtech did a review of it. A few cosmetic flaws, but the real disappointment is the Contrast, black levels and input lag. Just not acceptable for gaming in my opinion (or theirs).

For Clarification:

1) The input lag test was performed at 1080p, which would activate the scaler to scale the 1080p to fill the monitor screen which would result in higher input lag. When using the monitor's native resolution at 2560x1440 with Dual Link DVI-D and DisplayPort connections, input lag would be less.

2) Not favorable Contrast Ratio and Back Levels was due to Dynamic Contrast Ratio (DCR) was not being used during the testing. On the OSD, you can turn DCR off before you adjust brightness, color temperture settings, and other settings. After you have adjusted your preferred monitor settings you can turn DCR on for better Contrast Ratios and Black Levels.

Guessing the HDMI has less input lag as well? Also, I was about to buy this monitor a week ago, but before I did the price shot up $70-80 at every reseller. redface.gif

Auria's are still $399 + tax. Guess those are the cheaper options.

I"ve been playing Borderlands 2 at 1920x1080 (2560x1440 at high settings is just too much for my 5850) with no problems. If there is input lag it doesnt bother me.

even though officially the Niexus is "different" the DisplayPort is still flipped which is the same way on my Auria. Meaning the locking clip release is on the inside of the display.
