Has the XL2412T released in the US yet? I can't find any retailers that have it for sale.

Sorry I was mistaken, the new one is in fact the XL2411T like you mentioned first, the old one is the XL2410T. The XL2420T was released inbetween those two, but is a premium model and likely over your budget.

I can't seem to find shopping info for the US, I'm in the UK so I don't really know how smile.gif

I checked Newegg and Amazon.com but no luck there.

Alright, well I'm fed up. I'm going to buy a 120hz monitor ASAP. I being looking for the past month and I just can't deal with having to play every game limited to 60FPS due to screen tearing on my 60Hz monitor. Its a big investment but I'm sure it will be well worth it and I will be able to fully enjoy my new PC.

So lets get down to business. (Please read on)
NOTE: I don't care for 3D but the monitor has to be no smaller than 23"

Top budget is $350 and these are my best options.

Option #1
Samsung S23A700D 23" Refurb for $270 + 2 Year warranty (Its a must for me) $67.98.
The Total comes around $337 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2004526&SRCCODE=WEBGOOPA&cm_mmc_o=mH4CjC7BBTkwCjCV1-CjCE&gclid=CLqT7_mUy7QCFZGPPAodpk0AQg

Option #2
Benq XL2420T "New" from best buy for $350
[URL=http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/benq-benq-24-widescreen-3d-ready-led-monitor-with-2ms-response-time-xl2420t-xl2420t/10198341.aspx?path=aca1bf7eb89887fba7a974c365b4659een02[/URL]

Now, warranty is a very important factor for me, that is the reason I would get the 2 year Square Trade warranty if I got the Refurb Samsung.
The BenQ would be NEW and only $15 more than the Samsung....but here is the catch. According to the Best Buy page from the Link above, the BenQ only has 1 year warranty, which is pretty crappy to be completely honest.

So I was wondering if you guys can confirm this? Because if BenQ only offers 1 year warranty on their $350 monitors then I'll just buy the Refurb Samsung and buy a 3rd party warranty such as Trade Square.

Any input on this subject is greatly appreciated from the community thumb.gif

(Bump?) Lol I just learned what that is.

Can any one help me find what Ben Q Warranty is for new Monitors? Cause according to the Best Buy link above for the Ben Q monitor I want is only 1 year.

I looked around Google but nothing came up from the manufacturer.

The only thing you might not like about the samsung is the stand. Due to the fact that you cant really adjust it
Otherwise I would go the samsung, for the aesthetics

I know you guys think it is all about hz. But let me tell you, hz is only one part in determining how well a monitor will play. In almost every digital monitor now days there is input lag...a delay between when the monitor receives a signal, and when it displays it. This means you are 1-2, possibly 10 frames behind real time and this will effect your ability to aim/do just about anything.

When buying a monitor this is ALWAYS my primary concern as it has a bigger impact on your play than hz do. Response time and ghosting also plays a very important role - however most monitors these days are around 2ms so this is no longer a huge issue.

Yes, 120hz is better - however make sure the monitor has less than 10ms of input lag - or you will be sorry. This is the main reason most people do not game on large HDTV's (40+").

The best reference I have found thus far showing input lag is the shoryuken input lag database.
