You guys can say what you want to say , unless you use the monitor all the time you won't really know. I could care less about the reviews... All eyes see differently.

Besides, the Catleaps have awesome image quality, even if they don't always get up to 100Hz+.
I've got the Shimian and it is only stable up to 65hz. I haven't seen anybody get near 100 with the current revision.

Yes, a 120mhz monitor makes a HUGE difference. I've been using a Samsung S27A950D and have climbed to the top 200 players worldwide of score/min in BF3 biggrin.gif

After seeing the difference between 60 and 120 Hz, I'd not go back, but I also wouldn't settle for a mere 1920x1080 resolution.
Yeah, I just got a VG278H, that's the only thing I wish it had, was some higher res. I can live with it though, I'm just far enough back that it doesn't really bother me. I just opted to go 120Hz over the high-res Koreans, but I was coming from a smaller 120Hz, and didn't want to give that up.

So I got about 2 hours of playtime with a Asus VG278HE (no glasses). And I absolutely loved it. Every single FPS game was just amazing. No tearing, extremely smooth gameplay with vsync off.

I was slightly disappointed that Diablo 3 didnt work much better. I still prefered vsync on, even at 120hz.

Needless to say I got the Samsung S23A700D on the way from newegg smile.gif Bought it about 30 minutes after giving the asus back. Wow I lucked out, just went to double check the model number on the monitor I bought. I paid $279 for it, it's $399 today.

Question:

Will 40-50fps be worse on a 120hz monitor compared to a 60hz one? Or will it be just the same (maybe even smoother), but better once it goes above 60?

I'm asking since I want to buy one right now (current monitor is broke) but my gpu will only reach 50-70fps on the newer games. I'm going to buy a better one later, but I need to buy the monitor now.

No worse, just probably not much better. With a 6950 you can easily boost the fps of most newer games, just lower a few settings to enjoy the amazing smoothness. Also note, I'm a firm believer that 120hz really benefits from FPS games, so those are the important ones to get the fps on. Strategy, rpg, and other types of games 120hz helps, but isn't as crucial.
