WMP12 - FLAC files don't have song lenghts?

As the title says, most of my FLAC audio files don't have any length at all. The length bar doesn't move when the song played. When I press the length bar at any given spot to hear that part of the song, it starts over... WT#?

I only have the MSN and WMP Tag Plus plug-in's installed.

The player still needs to be aware of the FLAC file structure in order to seek it, and unfortunately WMP was never really designed to play FLAC files. Your best option is to simply use another media player with native FLAC support.

Hi, I'm the author of WMP Tag Plus. In WMP, please go to Tools - Options - Plug-ins (press Ctrl+M if you don't see the Tools menu). Select the Background category, then select WMP Tag Plus and click Properties. In WMP Tag Plus settings, go to Tools, click Refresh song tags and follow the instructions.

After that, your FLAC files in the media library should have song lengths and the length bar should be functional while they are playing.

Hi Tim,

nice of you to make an account to answer my question! What do you mean by Refresh song tags? I don't see that Tools button in the WMP Tag Plus section anywhere?

The Refresh song tags command has been added to WMP Tag Plus just recently, so you're probably still using an older version. Please download the latest version from the official WMP Tag Plus homepage. After updating you should see the Tools tab in WMP Tag Plus settings and be able to click Refresh song tags on that tab.
