Catleap worth the risk? - Page 2

If you have a microcenter close by check this monitor out. I'm not knocking catleap's by no means. But if something happens to this one. You can take it back to microcenter at least. Plus you can check it out in the store and test it out there. Thanks

I just got Catleap from bigclothcraft on Ebay for $320. Everything went very smooth. No dead pixels or light bleeding. Quick delivery (just 2 working days) and careful packaging. I am using it with Dell E5520 laptop via E-Port docking station ( DisplayPort -> Active Adapter / Converter --> Dual Link DVI ). Very happy with the purchase. Coming from crappy 22" Acer monitor, it is huge step up.

I got my Catleap from Green-sum and my crossover from BCC and both worked out fine. If you are worried about long term, you can get the Square Trade 3 years warranty for about $45 as long as you are not in Quebec.

Yes, it is worth the risk. As it looks on the market right now the korean monitors are the monitors to buy. And the risk is very small too. Only a woman would go for another option.

Absolutely in love with my Achieva Shimians. I was hesitant but after seeing them in person all doubt I had absolutely vanished. Gorgeous screens. One came faulty so while I was working out the details with the vendor I had my Samsung P2770H setup alongside it and it was... just fugly at that point. Granted that was an older TN but compared to the Shimian the colors were muddy, orangey-yellow, blacks pale, whites ... well yellow. I couldn't believe the difference. With the Shimian it's almost as if the browser is a physically tangible object that I could reach out and touch. SO amazing. Plus going from 1920x1080 on 27" to 2560x1440 is absolutely night and day.

I have a SA27950D I think you are most likely right but I do really like my 120hz. From what I hear there are no more that clock up to 120hz. I think I would buy one of these if I knew for sure I could get 85hz or higher guarnteed. Do you know where I can find one like that.

The Yamakasi Q270 (Catleap) is great. It's very professional looking, including the box.. It's much nicer than the Crossover, which comes across cheap even though the screen is just as nice. I had one.

If your worried about dead pixels you can buy the perfect pixel versions for $50 more and your still paying way less than you would for a comparable monitor in the U.S.

I would warn that there are several versions.

There's the standard (1 DVI),
The SE which Adds a 2W built in stereo speaker
and the MULTI (~$40 more) that adds HDMI input as well.

I probably would have paid more and got the HDMI version if I had known about it, but I may switch to a triple display setup next year and I can get some with that option, just to have the ability to plug in a ps3 or other video source without an adapter.

I used greensum on Ebay.

Reading the replies here about paying more for a warranty and "pixel perfect" is enough evidence for me. lol
