well i heard that having drives in a raid setup increases performance in terms of read and write speed. is that true?

yeah basically do you want speed or a redundency or a middle of the road, i personally like raid 0 which uses atleast 2 hdds and is pretty fast but if you lose one disc you lose the array

and yes thats true you will get much fasster speds ina raid 0

well i guess speed the most, but also alot of storage. is it possible to run my o/s on say like a 36gb raptor then have an array for mass storage
