Alright, so I have an Intel 520 SSD and I have Windows 7 installed on it. It takes me roughly 40 seconds to reach the User login screen from when I press the power button. However, half that time is spent during the POST/BIOS and then the rest is during the Windows 7 logo.
Now people are always like "This SSD reduced my Win7 load times from 2 minutes to 20 seconds!" However, I'm not sure if these people mean 20 seconds from the instant they turn their computer on, or 20 seconds from when the Windows 7 logo shows but it's probably the former. Anyway, I want to know if there is anything I can do to decrease the time spent loading POST/BIOS. My goal is to get to the User Login screen within 30 seconds.
I used to have a RAID setup and people said that it added a few seconds because the PC had to load the RAID BIOS. However, I broke the RAID but the timing isn't really any different. I have quick boot enabled and disabled the BIOS logo but it still takes a while.
Also, for some reason when I turn my computer on, the first 10 seconds no video is displayed and I'm not sure why that is. I have my BIOS display priority as PCI x16 slot, but I think that's for another thread.
The video starts the same time I pressed the power button.
