How does this at all support your arguement?

I hope you aren't being serious.

321w for an entire system?

The rating is per card. SLI multiply by 2 and you have roughly 650w devoted just for graphics. 1k is the way to go.

It's for the system, see

Power consumption was measured using a Kill-A-Watt power meter that measures a power supply’s power draw directly from the wall outlet. The power supply used in the test system is a Thermaltake Toughpower that carries an efficiency rating up to 85%.
And SLI never uses 2x the power consumption

Throw a similar system into this:

http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp

And where are you coming up with these facts?

I see your arugement that both cards may never be under full load, but stability issues will arrive soon enough when both cards are fully utilized.

I'd much rather have real numbers with real tests instead of some psucalculator but for the sake of your suggestion I did that and I got 313w from it

What facts are you referring too?

EDIT: The 313w number comes from using the x1950xtx on that site

What is it that you want that will convince you that the cards do not eat 320 whatever watts? Seriously, you post numbers, you post tests, you post sites with credibility and people still express doubt. Why?

You think the cards eat 320w each? Fine, whatever, believe what you want. Everyone can wait until the 8th so I can put "I told you so" in giant letters in my sig

Ugh!
