Mechanical switch for FPS

Thread Starter
I've never used any mechanical keyboard before, and Im looking for a new one but when I look for it I find about cherry mx switch then I read mecha keyboard guide. Just wanna ask some advice which cherry switch suite best for FPS games?

all this time I used logitech G1 keyboard, and ive heard that mecha keyboard is softer than any membran keyboard and my question is,
do cherry mx black (heaviest one) is softer than logitech G1 keyboard?

if cherry black is lighter than Id go for black cherry but if cherry mx black have heavier feel than logitech G1 keyboard maybe I'll go for brown switch

thanks

They're all pretty much fine to gaming or typing in my opinion, but it does come down to personal preference if you're picky. Personally I really like the MX Black switches, since I tend to be a bit of a heavy typer and I didn't really want to have the click sound so I went with the Steel Series 7G for that and the hand rest.

Whereas my girlfriend hates typing on my keyboard since she doesn't like the feeling of it, I suspect she'd be more of a MX Blue or Brown person as she is more of a light typer.

This page may help you out a bit when it comes down to deciding, it really comes down to whether or not you want to hear or feel the button press as it activates in my opinion.

I love the brown switches due to their similarity to blue switches, but without the noise.
