about rads.. need suggestions

Hi, currently here's my set-up..

The loop got XSPC Rasa cpu block, Koolance VID-AR797, XSPC RS120 and RS240 rads and EX240 Multi-port rad.
Right now I am thinking ditching the RS120 rad. and imma replace the RS240 rad with RX240 rad, would that have significant improvement in performance? or should I just keep the RS240? and I am planning to run it on this configuration this time.

Replacing your RS240 with a RX240 will be unlikely to cause a significant temperature drop. You don't mention heat load or fans. These are important to answer your question accurately. You can probably answer your question by looking at Martin's testing of those radiators here: http://martinsliquidlab.org/2012/04/14/360-radiator-shootout-summary/

Good luck. smile.gif

My fans are SilenX effizio 74cfm 18dba x4fans currently between the ex240 and rs240 and xspc 2000rpm fan insode the case as push (the pic above is old pic with the led fans) my abient temp is around 26 to 30c (yeh hot here in vegas) and my idle plays at 33 to 37c depending on ambient fluctuations I guess. And my load temp maxes out at 56c cpu is 1090t 4ghz @ 1.45v. Imma change my push fans up top to the corsair high static pressure fans and the rad that would be inside the case would be using the xspc fans as push and 2 of the silenx fans as pull.

I would ditch those SilenX fans ASAP, they're literally the worst fans on the market and have been the worst fans for years. Definitely swap them for something similar to the XSPC fans.

Actually these ones I got are pretty good. 74cfm at 18dba, static pressure vs the XSPC is lower but not much. i tested it as push thru my rad by touch and the difference between two isnt much but the SilenX operates silently as the XSPC is very loud. maybe few years ago they must have horrible fans but I guess they picked themselves up coz these ones I got are amazing. well they do not look sexy as gentle typhoons but performance wise they are on par and noise wise they are much better. I would recommend them. you can go ahead go get just one of em just make sure its the 74cfm/18dba one coz thats the one I am using atm and judge it yourself, plus I got em on sale thats why I gave it a shot even though I didn't know them.

Those are fake specs, pure and simple. Accurately rated fans of similar airflow are rated within 30-35dBA, and 18dBA fans will push much less air. SilenXes are also notorious for dying after relatively short periods of operation so don't expect to have yours running as long as you've had the others.

as I said you can go try one of em and judge it yourself. as for lifespan I'll see when they die =P but for the air they pushes the XSPC and SilenX w/o the rad they push pretty much same air flow but thru the rad the XSPC got higher static pressure thus pushing air thru rads stronger than the SilenX but as I said the gap between the two aint that big. I will be the witness on how long they last and for performance wise.. get one and you will prolly be surprised how good they are w/ silent operations =P

and anyways we are getting off topic.. so about the rads??

Edit:
Just saw XSPC posted a pic of their new upcoming rad "AX" series. they said so far it surpasses the RX series @ 1400rpm fans and is currently on testing stage.. they come in white or anodized black (white would match my case).. with this one about to come up I guess i will hold any thoughts of getting new rad xD
