Final upgraded a 4yr old case, and a few other things :D

This past Wednesday i got a bunch of computer parts I've been needing to make my setup better, here is what i went from;

Thermaltake Armor ( Old series, solid steel and 30lbs empty) no cable management, and top mounted PSU. Here is what it looked like;

Not very pretty. Wires everywhere and just ugly, well to me.

then the day came i got all of this;

and a Rosewill Blackhawk which can be seen here - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147107

From top to bottom, left to right, Is SLF-1 South Bridge cooler (not on yet waiting for MOFSET heatsink) North Bridge cooler (not on yet also) Scythe 120mm case fan (18mm thick to fit behind the motherboard) COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus, and COOLER MASTER blade master 120mm fan to do a Push/Pull effect on the CPU heatsink.

This is the bottom mounted PSU with the fan facing down threw the bottom vent, YAY for no hot air into the case!

Then i mounted the new heatsink onto the motherboard, gees what a beast of a cooler

I went from a Overclocked E8400 running at 46-47C idle (which is good for air cooled) To a nice 40-41C! That is a nice change

Motherboard mounted into the case, Had to remove the top exhaust fan to make room, but glad that fan isn't needed. Case is super cool compared to the last.

Everything all mounted and wires hidden, But im waiting for a few more wire extensions so i can hide all the fan wires and wire them up to a separate power supply, Saving my PSU from the fan draws.

Final picture of it all assembled and good to go

Looks so much better than the other case. Runs cooler and quieter. Specs on the computer are;

OC's E8400 @ 4.1GHZ core 2 duo
Motherboard - EVGA 780I SLI (tri-sli capable)
PSU - Diablotek 675 UL series
GPU - MSI Radeon HD 5770R Hawk
Ram - OCZ PC2-6400 DDR2 800mhz SLI
HDD 1 - 300gb VelociRaptor 10000RPM
HDD 2 - 2TB Segate 7200 RPM
HDD 3(not pictured) - 2TB Segate 7200 RPM

Nice work! It's refreshing to see someone content with older hardware. You sir just saved me from making unnecessary upgrades to my current rig. thumb.gif

No problem, I love my set up actually. that E8400 is awesome, i can play just about every game there is. All i need to do is get some Nvidia based cards so i can SLI. I would like an SSD, but just not in the market yet. At-least i have a case that will be good for me for a few years. biggrin.gif

Nicely done! I have one of those 12x120mm scythe fans myself. And @tcaughey, I watch other people mess with their computers and upgrade them until I cant stand not upgrading mine tongue.gif
