Unless you don't plan on using the dual outs or exterior amp functionality, then I would go with the E7.
Additionally, the E7 can be expanded with an E9 to provide a much more powerful amp if you want to move up to higher impedance headphones.
Both of these will come with a USB cable to connect to your computer, and from there you plug the 3.5mm unextended jack from the AD700s in.
