1650pro settings for playing dark messiah

Thread Starter
Currently building a computer for a friend that wants to mainly play Dark Messiah, and possibly some other newer games.

Was wondering what kind of settings would be good on this card:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814241028

He wanted something to do atleast medium settings, at an ok screen size. My 6800gs does medium to high settings all around, but I haven't been following up on video cards since I had to buy mine. Anybody who has the game and card or similar card want to fill me in on what type of settings you can play it at?

Ohyea, it'll be running with an athlon 64 3700+ s939, 1gb of ddr400 ram, nforce 4 mobo.

If there are any other cards under 150$ that would be better please point me towards them.

I used to have that card and it is quite good. I think there is an X1650XT coming out soom though.

This is nice. $144 after rebate and it'll own the X1650.

As for messiah settings, should be able to max it at 1024 at least.

My x850xt plows through messiahs demo like nothing. A 1600xt is very close to equivalent to my x850 and might i add, its underclocked due to PSU issues soo you should be fine with the x1650 but I recommend getting that x1800. Will do just fine

I think you should get an X1800 just because they are pretty cheap right now IMO. Here is one for 145 AR+shipping. And its a single slot cooler also. That is a huge plus.

I have two of these. They are OC'd to x1600xt speeds and have GDDR3 ram. Pretty cheap if you ask me and do a decent job. However the x1800 I think could in fact beat two but not sure.

Well i wouldnt get an X1800 as and X1600XT Would do the job just fine. However if you did want to upgrade then your best bang for buck is going to be the X1900 series.
