the INTEL setup is powerful and efficient. its upgrade path is limited, though. as if you will need to upgrade soon if you decide to go with this setup.

the AMD setup is also powerful but not as efficient. if you go with this setup i suggest replacing the board with the sabertooth. good thing about this setup is it is ready for piledriver.

my suggestion is to wait for piledriver or haswell. they might be around by the time you come back..not sure how power efficient is the next generation amd chips. i am waiting for the fx 8300/95W and haswell.

EDIT: this . . .

Sorry for not mentioning my budget, I cannot exceed 1200 dollars. With my AMD build my subtotal is around $1,143.79. Thats all on amazon with prime shipping. I've been looking at the sabertooth for quite some time now, I'm not quite sure what the benefits of having it would be. I felt the motherboard I picked was efficent, but I very well could be wrong. If you could please explain why Id apperciate it. With the intel build I have came to Subtotal: $1,219.78, on Amazon with prime. I do not have a microcenter around me. However If I can justify spending the 20 extra bucks IF and ONLY if its worth it. Unless there is a huge sale or some matter. I felt the reviews on the 7950 for that price was good. Its just shy of the GTX 670 (My original choice) but It saves me 70 bucks. Unless Im missing something, I do not know why I would choose something else. Thoughts, Thx again for the input.

Even though the budget is 1200 dollars, The more cost efficent parts I can manage and lower the price for a great gaming experience, the more money I can put into other fun stuff. Oh I also forgot, I am using a single full HD monitor. Sorry for not mentioning. I am also a audiophile and I love listening to music while I game, Hence the reason I got such an expensive audio card.

Yes, I looked really hard at the piledriver processor and If it most certainly is a great processor and comes out before I get home I will have no problems getting it. Espcially since its AM3+ as well The only issue is, Price? I know it hasnt been put out yet, but I just have a bad feeling about the release price.

something to keep in mind AMD will be changing the Bulldozer and the second gen Bulldozer comes out at the same time as when Pildriver drops

It all boils down to a matter of preference really. I'd wait for PD and then make an informed decision.

The core i5 3570k is the better buy. it has much better single threaded performance .core i5 3570k has much superior performance than fx-8120 and fx-8150 if your application uses only 4 or less threads. Most mainstream applications and games fit in this category.

here are a few reviews which compare gaming performance of core i5 3570k and core i7 3770k with FX-8150. for gaming perf core i5 3570k and core i7 3770k are quite similar

here is a review of sub $200 cpus according to which core i5 2400 is the fastest CPU for gaming.

Also bulldozer is extremely power hungry once you try overclocking to 4.5+ Ghz speeds.

http://techreport.com/articles.x/21848/2

Your best bet is a core i5 3570k and overclocking it to 4.4 Ghz speeds beyond which the voltage and power required get disproportionately higher to the performance increase you gain.

the Noctua CPU cooler, MSI HD 7950 OC graphics card are excellent choices. As for RAM anything more than 8 GB is unnecessary. I have suggested an alternative MSI Z77 motherboard (supports two PCI-E 3.0 16x slots) .Windows 7 Home premium OEM version has been added, assuming you want to use a licensed OS.
